The ASC Services At the tCES group of Schools
The ASC provision at TCES Schools aims to meet the needs of a range of young people who have Asperger Syndrome, High Functioning Autism or conditions with a similar developmental profile such as Klinefelter Syndrome, Tourette Syndrome or a combination of conditions. Our ASC Centres cater for pupils at Key Stage 3 and 4 and, on certain sites, Key Stage 2. Most pupils will have had a poor educational experience, will have been excluded from school or will have been school refusers. Other factors to consider when making a referral are that pupils:
· are likely to be Yr 7+ · may have experienced several (unsuccessful) educational placements · may have had poor school experiences · may have mild learning difficulties or may be gifted and talented · are significantly underachieving · have low self esteem · may have fine and gross motor difficulties · have an uneven developmental profile with probable strengths in maths, IT, science · may have acquired knowledge but with poor application skills · may have deceptively good vocabulary and expressive skills but poor comprehension · may have additional complex needs such as mental health issues and co-morbidity For more information on our curriculum and approach:
