Students at Nurture Primary School enjoyed a vibrant and creative drama day last week as the school celebrated the festival of Holi.
The special event was led by Ella from Tie Dye Drama, who delivered a series of engaging drama workshops for students across the school.
Throughout the day, students explored the stories and traditions behind Holi through movement, role-play and storytelling. They learned about the story of Holika Dahan, which symbolises good overcoming evil, as well as the joyful traditions connected to Krishna and Radha, which inspire the colourful celebrations associated with the festival.
Through drama activities and creative expression, students were encouraged to bring these stories to life, exploring the themes of colour, joy, friendship and renewal that are central to Holi celebrations.
By the end of the workshops, students had worked together to create short performances that captured the spirit of the festival. The day was filled with energy, imagination and collaboration as students used drama to express their understanding of the stories they had explored.
It was a fantastic day of creativity and storytelling enabling students to learn about and celebrate cultural traditions from around the world!
