Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. If your child has struggled in previous settings, experienced exclusions, or felt misunderstood, you may be wondering where they will finally feel safe, supported and able to succeed.
At TCES Nurture Primary, we want you to know one thing above all else: we never give up, and we never exclude.
Your child will not face further rejection here. Instead, they will experience understanding, patience and belief in their potential.
A School Where Your Child Comes First
We specialise in supporting children age 7 to 12 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many of the children who join us have been out of education, experienced multiple exclusions or managed moves, or have needs that are still being fully understood.
We see beyond behaviour. We look at what your child is communicating and what they need in order to feel safe. When children feel emotionally secure, their confidence grows and learning becomes possible again.

Small classes. big understanding
Your child will be in a class of no more than six pupils, supported not only by a teacher but also by a Therapeutic Education Practitioner (TEP) in every classroom.
This means your child is truly known. Their triggers, their strengths, their interests and their goals are understood and planned for every day.
Our trauma-informed, therapeutic approach includes:
- Predictable routines that reduce anxiety
- Sensory support to help with focus and regulation
- Calm, structured environments
- Explicit teaching of emotional understanding
- Daily opportunities to practise communication and social skills
We help children understand their emotions, recognise the feelings of others and develop strategies to regulate themselves. Over time, you will see your child build independence, resilience and the ability to make positive choices.
Preparing Your Child for Lifelong Learning
Our aim is not just to help your child cope with school it is to prepare them for lifelong learning.
- Confidence to speak in a group
- Leadership & Peer mentoring roles
- Skills to manage transitions
- The ability to stay engaged in learning
- Pride in their achievements
Through our topic-based curriculum and extensive enrichment opportunities, your child will experience a broad and balanced education. Every pupil leaves us with recognised qualifications and the academic knowledge they need for their next step.
Supporting Transitions with Care
We understand that transition can feel daunting for both children and parents. That is why we offer a supported pathway through to the end of Year 6 or Year 7, depending on your child’s needs.
Our Year 7 provision provides an additional year to build readiness for secondary school in an environment that feels more grown up, helping pupils feel confident and prepared.
When the time is right, we carefully plan step-down opportunities into Local Authority schools, secondary provision or TCES East London. Every transition is gradual, supported and centred around your child’s readiness.
A Partnership with You
We believe parents and carers are essential partners in their child’s progress. You will be involved, listened to and supported. We work closely with families and, where needed, social care and other professionals to ensure your child receives consistent support.
Many families tell us that TCES Nurture Primary feels like a community. A place where their child is understood. A place where they themselves feel supported.
If your child has found school difficult, if they have felt rejected, or if you are searching for a setting that truly understands complexity, TCES Nurture Primary may be the right next step.

Curriculum
At TCES Nurture Primary, your child will follow a broad, topic-based curriculum designed to reconnect them with learning in a meaningful and engaging way. Subjects are carefully linked so children can see how knowledge connects across the world around them, building curiosity as well as core skills. Alongside this thematic approach, we place a strong daily focus on phonics and reading, recognising that confidence in literacy unlocks every other area of learning.
Your child will receive consistent teaching in English, Mathematics and Science, alongside Food Technology, Computing, Geography, Art and Design, Design and Technology, Physical Education and Music all adapted to meet their individual learning profile while maintaining high expectations.
Enrichment
Our enrichment offer includes weekly swimming lessons, our in-school Master Chef programme where pupils prepare cultural dishes and develop practical catering skills, Lego Club and Chess Club to build problem-solving and social confidence, and participation in the local primary football league. These opportunities help your child discover strengths, build friendships and experience success in different ways strengthening both confidence and independence.
