Macmillan Cancer Support's World's Biggest Coffee Morning

TCES North West London & TCES East London school pupils and staff joined the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ campaign on Friday 29th September for Macmillan Cancer Support. Our staff, pupils and their parents demonstrated their impressive baking skills with a selection of homemade cookies, brownies and cakes which included a Victoria sponge and carrot cake. Our pupils were supported by staff as they sold the cakes. We were amazed at the kindness and volume of donations from our local community, parents, and staff. We are incredibly grateful for all the support that we’ve received today, and we are proud of what both of our schools have achieved today in serving their local communities and raising money for a good cause.

Pupils from both TCES East London and TCES North West London schools were thrilled to participate in selling cakes and building awareness. Staff and pupils wore green in representation of the MacMillan campaign, from t-shirts to trainers and accessories. Some of our pupils baked and decorated their cakes and were happy with the results prior to the event and were pleased with the outcome. Their selection of homemade cookies, brownies and cakes raised a whopping £464, and we are incredibly grateful for the generous donations from our local community. Everyone was involved, including some of our pupils’ parents who visited to support and encourage their children and help with donations.

We are truly grateful for the support from our pupils and staff and for the donations that were made today. This event was a valuable educational opportunity too, teaching our pupils the importance of giving back and appreciating others, as well as helping them develop skills in sales, customer relations, and a sense of community service.

It was such a great morning to see all our pupils work together with staff doing something for a good cause. We would like to thank MacMillan Cancer Support for providing a platform where people can come together and share a cup of tea/coffee to encourage donations and support those living with cancer.
