TCES North West London School – Primary

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. If your child has struggled in previous settings, experienced exclusions, or felt misunderstood, you may be wondering where they will finally feel safe, supported and able to succeed.

At TCES North West London School – Primary, we want you to know one thing above all else: we never give up, and we never exclude.

A New Primary Provision Designed Around Children

Our North West London Primary provision is now open, with places available.

The school will be based at our established East Acton site, which is being thoughtfully redesigned as part of our wider North West London development. With our new TCES College opening in West Ealing, this allows us to carefully restructure the East Acton building into distinct layers for primary and secondary students.

This means our Primary environment has been purposefully designed for younger children with calm classrooms, nurturing spaces and facilities tailored specifically to primary aged learners. Every detail reflects their developmental stage, sensory needs and emotional wellbeing.

Therapeutic Support

Therapy at TCES is woven into everyday school life. Rather than feeling separate or clinical, support is integrated naturally into the classroom and wider school day.

Our multidisciplinary team works closely with teaching staff to ensure emotional regulation, communication skills and sensory needs are supported consistently.

Small Classes. Big Understanding.

Your child will be in a class of no more than six pupils, supported by:

  • A qualified teacher
  • A Therapeutic Education Practitioner (TEP) in every classroom
  • Lead Therapist
  • Pastoral Support

This means your child is truly known. Their strengths, interests, triggers and goals are understood and planned for every day.

Our therapeutic approach includes:

  • Predictable routines that reduce anxiety
  • Sensory support to aid focus and regulation
  • Calm, structured environments
  • Explicit teaching of emotional understanding
  • Daily opportunities to practise communication and social skills

We help children recognise their emotions, understand others and develop strategies to regulate themselves. Over time, you are likely to see increased independence, resilience and the ability to make positive choices.

If you are unsure whether we can meet your child’s needs, please contact our referrals team.

Curriculum

At TCES North West London School – Primary, your child will follow a broad, topic-based curriculum designed to reconnect them with learning in a meaningful and engaging way.

Subjects are carefully linked so children can see how knowledge connects across the world around them, building curiosity alongside core skills.

Alongside this thematic approach, we place a strong daily focus on phonics and reading, recognising that confidence in literacy opens the door to every other area of learning.

Your child will receive consistent teaching in:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Food Technology
  • Computing
  • Geography
  • Art and Design
  • Design and Technology
  • Physical Education
  • Music

All learning is adapted to meet individual pupils while maintaining high expectations.

Preparing Your Child for Lifelong Learning

Our aim is not simply to help your child manage school it is to prepare them for lifelong learning.

We focus on developing:

  • Confidence to speak and participate
  • Early leadership and peer mentoring opportunities
  • Skills to manage transitions
  • Sustained engagement in learning
  • Pride in achievement

When the time comes to move into secondary education within TCES North West London School, the transition is seamless.

  • Familiar faces remain
  • The environment feels known and safe
  • Shared communal areas are already part of your child’s experience
  • The same expert therapeutic education approach continues

For many children with Autism (ASC) or SEMH needs, transition can be one of the biggest sources of anxiety. By keeping primary and secondary provision within the same site, we significantly reduce uncertainty. Your child does not have to start again in an unfamiliar setting. Instead, they step forward with confidence, supported by staff who already understand them.

As students progress through secondary school, there is a clear pathway into TCES North West London – College in West Ealing, where Year 10 and 11 pupils can continue their journey into a specialist Post-16 environment focused on qualifications, independence and future employment.

A Partnership With You

We know that when a child struggles in school, the whole family feels it.

Parents and carers are central to everything we do. You will be listened to, involved and supported. We work closely with families and, where needed, social care and other professionals to ensure consistent and joined-up support.

Many families describe TCES as feeling like a community, a place where their child is understood and where they themselves feel reassured.
