TCES East London School Celebrates Graduating Class of 2026

An emotional day of celebration and new beginnings marked the graduation of students from TCES East London School, as families, staff and students came together to recognise the remarkable journeys of this year’s graduates.

The event welcomed families, friends and members of the school community for an afternoon of heartfelt speeches, student performances, the traditional graduation cap toss and a celebration lunch, creating lasting memories as students prepared to take their next steps into further education, training and employment.

Opening the ceremony, Headteacher Ishamar reflected on the achievements of the graduating class and the legacy they leave behind: “Thank you for all your hard work and for showing such respect while reaching this important milestone. I am so proud of you all, and the staff have been incredible.”

Throughout the ceremony, staff spoke with pride about the progress each young person had made during their time at the school.

Teacher Chantal encouraged students to continue believing in themselves as they embark on the next chapter: “I am so proud of how much they have grown in every area of school life. Keep going, keep trying and always be yourself. Continue to show the side of yourselves that we have seen and never give up.”

Teacher Roxy reminded students that graduation represented much more than academic success: “Today is about celebrating your personal milestones. Always remember that you cannot control the events that have happened to you, but you can choose not to be defined or diminished by them.”

The ceremony also highlighted the vital role families play in every student’s journey through education, with parents and relatives sharing moving tributes about the support their children had received.

One parent spoke emotionally about the transformation they had witnessed: “He has grown into an amazing young adult, and that is thanks to all the wonderful staff here. Thank you for all your support. I do not know where he would be today without you.”

Another parent reflected on finding TCES after previous school placements had broken down: “We visited several schools after our son was excluded from others. We then found this wonderful specialist school. We are extremely grateful to all the amazing teachers.”

A student’s cousin also praised the school’s commitment to supporting young people beyond the classroom: “Thank you to the school for supporting my cousin. It has not always been easy, but he is now looking forward to continuing his education. Thank you for being such an important part of his support system and for caring for his wellbeing.”

The most remarkable moments of the afternoon came from the graduates themselves, who reflected on the relationships that had helped them overcome challenges and believe in their futures.

One graduate thanked the staff who had supported him through difficult times: “I would like to thank Mr Clayton for helping me through the difficult times. He and the other staff members have supported me greatly.”

Another graduate talked about the confidence they had developed during their time at TCES. “Three years ago, I did not feel like I belonged here. However, after meeting the staff, they really helped me through that difficult time.”

Having served as a student mentor, they also paid tribute to their fellow graduates and those who had supported them along the way: “I am very proud to have been a mentor. I have given guidance and advice, and I only wish I could have done even more. Thank you to the school, my family, my friends and the wider community. I would not have made it this far without you.”

The celebrations concluded with the traditional graduation cap throw, symbolising the end of one chapter and the beginning of the next, before students, families and staff came together to celebrate over food and refreshments.

Congratulations to the TCES East London School Class of 2026.
