Results day is here and we could not be prouder of our students! To get this far has taken an immense amount of strength, resilience and personal growth.
For many students across the country the focus of today will be the qualification. For students with SEND making it to Results Day is not just about the qualification but also their journey.
Some students join TCES after multiple placement breakdowns where their individual needs were unable to be met and they have not been fully understood. Resulting in gaps in education, anxiety, exclusion or a loss of confidence in education. Our schools have worked tirelessly with each student understanding their needs, how best they learn and provide the right support they need. Despite the challenges they have faced, they made it to the end of their secondary school chapter, and now students look to the future for their next steps into further education.
Headteacher said:
“It is a very proud moment for me to see how happy our students are. Having special educational needs and disabilities should never prevent young people from accessing the same opportunities as others. It was a joy to see their excitement and to hear how much they were looking forward to opening their results with their families.”
One of our students said:
“I’m happy with my results. Since coming from National Online School, I have reached the point I wanted to get to. The journey has been tough, but I’ve done it now and can move forward. I had completely closed myself off, but coming to TCES East London School has really increased my confidence. These results mean I can now look to the future; I’ll be returning next year to complete a year of post-16 and I’m looking forward to pursuing my future in carpentry.”
One of our students’ parents said:
“He has been at TCES since 2018 and has loved his time here. He has received excellent support, and I would recommend the school to anyone. He is looking forward to the future, and I would love for him to keep in touch with everyone. Regardless of his results, he sat his exams and pushed through his challenges.
