Create in the community art exhibition extravaganza

TCES Create in the Community Art Exhibition was held at The Hive, Victoria, Barking on Monday, 17th July was an incredible experience for everyone involved. Seeing our students' artwork on display in a larger representation is undoubtedly a proud moment for both our students and the staff. 

The collaboration with our Drama Psychotherapist, Raquel Bent, on the project 'Conflict and Resolution' adds an extra layer of depth and creativity to the art show. It's impressive to see how our students and Raquel worked together to explore these themes and present them through their art. The reoccurring themes of animations, storyboards, textures for sensory, and graffiti art showcased the diverse talents and interests of the art students. Such an exhibition allows for a deeper appreciation of their hard work and the progress they made from the Spring to Summer term.

"I didn't know what to do, but then I felt like doing something that I listen to. I listen to rap, and black artists and stuff. I felt good with the group that I have done because they did go through a lot like racism etc."

"With this artwork, I have done it to do flowers because with me and flowers I'm free, like new beginnings are coming."

"It took me like two to three months, I'm not too sure, but it was because I stopped and started so when I felt stressed, I felt like I wanted to do something and put it into art."

It is evident that our students and staff put in a lot of effort and dedication into making this event a success, and the community surely appreciated their commitment. Undoubtedly, the event provided an excellent platform for the pupils to showcase their teamwork, skills and creativity, and it must have been a rewarding experience for everyone involved.

Looking forward to our next Art Showcase, TCES Create in the Community are committed to nurturing and celebrating the artistic talents of our students. Such events not only inspire the pupils but also contribute to the overall growth and positive atmosphere within the educational community. Well done to all involved, especially a massive thanks to our amazing Art teacher, Santiago Alcon, Cross-site Art Leader, Nuno Reis Moreira, Raquel Bent, Drama Psychotherapist, Pastoral Care Coordinator, Jack Briggs and the rest of the team for organising such a brilliant event.
