TCES National Online School Nominated for the Nasen Specialist Provision Award and CYPN Learning Award
The TCES National Online School is thrilled to announce that it has been nominated for the National Association for Special Educational Needs (Nasen) 2024 Specialist Provision Award and the Children and Young People Now (CYPN) Learning Award.
These recognitions highlight the National Online School’s exceptional contributions to supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities within education.
The Nasen Specialist Provision Award celebrates outstanding achievements and innovations in the field of SEND. This award honours individuals and organisations that demonstrate dedication, creativity, and excellence in supporting children with special educational needs. The CYPN Learning Award celebrates those who have made the best contribution to improving the educational achievements of children and young people.
TCES National Online School’s nominations are a testament to its commitment to providing high-quality, inclusive, and tailored education to the needs of its pupils. The National Online School’s curriculum follows a therapeutic model of learning which places equal emphasis on academic, social, emotional, and personal development as measures of success. This support allows our pupils to feel safe enough to take risks and open themselves up to growth and academic success.
Speaking on the nomination, Founder & CEO of TCES Thomas Keaney mentioned
“These nominations recognise that for a growing population of neurodiverse pupils’ high-quality education and therapy delivered online can enable them to re-engage with their peers and re-integrate back into mainstream schools.”
“To achieve the Department for Education online accreditation as the first online special school in the country and to then have Nasen the 'Champions of Inclusion and CYPN Learning Award' shortlist us to is an honour indeed.”
Kirsten Roy, Head of the National Online School, also spoke proudly of the nominations, mentioning that “making positive change for pupils who have extreme needs such as Anxiety, SEMH and Sensory overload or who have been excluded is what drives us and to deliver real and meaningful inclusion. Being recognised in this category is an honour. Thank you.”
The Nasen Awards ceremony will take place in October, with the CYPN Awards being hosted in November. TCES National Online School is honoured to be among the nominees, and we look forward to continuing our mission of empowering pupils with neurodiverse needs through therapeutic and innovative education.
