North west london Sixth form student attends the British Horse Society CLTH luncheon

The event was held on 30th June, at the Worshipful Company of Saddlers' Hall in the City of London and was attended by several other centres that run the Changing Lives Through Horses (CLTH) program, each with their respective young person. It was organised by the British Horse society CLTH team, who is also the main sponsor for the event. 

Leo Murphy, student at North West London school was chosen to attend the event because he has made excellent progress since being at the Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre (WSPC). There were some short CLTH presentations followed by a buffet lunch and informal chats with other guests including the other young people.

"Leo has been an influential ambassador representing the TCES group at the event. He displayed a high level of interest, was well-behaved and spoke eloquently with presenters and made relevant queries as possibilities from the event. Leo spoke of his experience on the CLTH programme and how this has influenced his career choice, he is now able to make an informed decision about his next steps and has a clearer pathway route.  At the event, the experience gained by Leo was later communicated to his fellow pupils and teachers. This motivating experience paves the way for other pupils at TCES to access similar experience from the CLTH programme." TCES, Careers Lead, Niota Cover. 

Mary-Joys, the manager of WSPC, was impressed by Leo's performance at a recent small BHS event where he spoke about what the CLTH program meant to him and its impact. Leo spoke clearly, with enthusiasm, and provided an accurate account of the course without any prompting. Mary-Joys felt proud of him and saw it as a testament to his growth and development. 

During the event, Leo had the opportunity to meet important figures such as the Head of the CLTH, the BHS director, and other officials. He was a great ambassador for the Wormwood Pony Centre and TCES. Through his CLTH experience, Leo explained how it has contributed towards influencing his career path, as well as personal guidance at TCES. Leo and our Careers Lead Niota Cover had the pleasure of attending the event.

The lunch was high-profile and provided valuable insights into how the CLTH program supports students with additional needs therapeutically. It also highlighted how the program helps children engage in learning through work experience and the life skills program.

Overall, attending the event was a significant experience for Leo, and it showcased his progress and achievements within the CLTH program at Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre (WSPC).
