Exploring with Purpose: How TCES Create in the Community Pupil Merged Safety with Creativity

At TCES, we strive to foster creativity and individuality, encouraging our pupils to explore their unique interests in meaningful ways.

One of our creatively talented pupils recently collaborated with Tracey Cockley, Family Support Worker at TCES Create in the Community to produce a stunning piece of artwork that celebrates his passion for Urban Exploring (URBEX).

Daniel's fascination with abandoned buildings served as the foundation for his project. Inspired by this hobby, Daniel created a thought-provoking piece of artwork that reflects both the appeal, and the risks associated with exploring these sites. Daniel demonstrated fantastic initiative and research skills. He performed independent research on the common law on Trespass and Nuisance on land, and gave a full list of equipment that he would need to keep himself and others safe whilst Urban Exploring.

In presenting his work, Daniel shared his knowledge of URBEX with Create in the Community staff, proudly reciting the core principles of responsible Urban Exploring:

Take nothing but pictures.

Leave nothing but footprints.

Break nothing but silence.

Daniel will continue his project by learning some basic First Aid skills, keeping himself and others safe in future explorations.

We are all incredibly proud of Daniel and his achievements, and we look forward to seeing more of his incredible artwork in the new school term.
