Families and Schools working Together: F.A.S.T

TCES are committed to working alongside parents and carers to support the holistic needs of our pupils and families. Our unique Families And Schools/Service working Together - FAST programme aims to bridge the gap between school, home and community contexts, and our proactive Early Help support has proven to enable increased success and safety for pupils.

How do I get FAST support?

Pupils, parents, and carers can self-refer to our FAST team; just speak with your schools Lead FAST Practitioner.

If school staff think that your family might benefit from support, they will discuss this with you before referring you to the FAST team. The FAST team will then contact you directly to explore how they might be able to support you and your young person.

Do I have to accept support from the FAST team?

Our FAST programme is voluntary, and its success is reliant on us working in collaboration with parents and carers. If you begin receiving support, you are free to withdraw your consent to participate at any time, though we do encourage you to complete the intervention in full so that positive outcomes can be achieved.

Is the service confidential?

Your participation in the FAST programme is only shared on a need-to-know basis, and you can request that specific conversations and/or disclosures of information are kept private. We’ll only share this if we think that you or a child or young person may be at risk of harm.

As part of the FAST intervention, we may want to speak with, or arrange a meeting involving other professionals that are supporting you and your family. We’ll always discuss this with you beforehand, and you can choose for this not to go ahead if preferred.
