Level 3 Certificate in Therapeutic Education and Group Process
Therapeutic Education and Group Process
The Level 3 Award in Therapeutic Education aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of child development, neurodevelopment, and the principles of teaching and learning in therapeutic settings. This is accredited through Crossfields, our awarding body. The course covers reflective practice, group processes, developmental and relational trauma, mental health, resilience, relational work, positive communication, and pupil leadership development as an intervention. After each module, learners will participate in a guided group process.
What is Group Process?
- The TCES Model of Group Process involves pupil groups or staff groups gathering face to face in a seated circle with 1-2 trained group facilitators.
- Pupil groups meet without an agenda to consider wider issues like British values, spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues as well as internal school community concerns.
- Staff groups meet to reflect upon, discuss and resolve issues or concerns within the team or group setting. Hierarchical and work roles, in a well-functioning group, should not deter group members from speaking freely.
- The power of the TCES Model of Group Process lies in the unique opportunity to receive multiple perspectives, support, encouragement and feedback from other individuals in safe and confidential environment.
